“First comes thought; then organization of that thought, into ideas and plans; then transformation of those plans into reality. The beginning, as you will observe, is in your imagination.”
-Napoleon Hill
So true! Have you ever walked into a messy room, where nothing seems to have it’s place and chaos reins? Have you noticed, that when you do that, you react- maybe you just want to leave, or go to sleep to avoid it (especially if it is in your house or office!) or you want to clean it up. Whatever your reaction, notice how much energy being around that chaotic space takes. When you de-clutter and organize, you actually free yourself up to be more productive. If it is in your business, it allows you to take on that next marketing activity or that next call. A study done at the University of Minnesota showed that although a group might show more creativity in a messy space, for maximum productivity, neatness rules. As we head toward the end of the year, it is a good time to take stock of your space and put order in where it is missing and then take a new action. Create a new habit to keep that space neat. One new habit at a time!
